Credit Balance Refunds
Grants, loans, and scholarships are credited directly to your University student account and applied toward your total University expenses. If your financial aid exceeds the total amount billed to your account, the residual aid will be refunded to you. Refunds will be processed automatically for students registered in at least nine credits. Financial aid recipients who are registered part time or taking a combination of regular on-campus and Division of Continuing Education credits will receive a refund once final registration is confirmed.
Now you can get your student account refund faster by signing up for Ram Refund Direct Deposit. By signing up for this service your refund will be automatically deposited into your savings or checking account. For more information visit RAMweb.
For students who prefer mailed refunds, checks will be mailed to the current mailing address on file with the University. If you are due a refund, the amount will be calculated on the total financial aid credits and University charges posted to your University student account. Only refunds greater than $50 will automatically be processed. If your balance is less than $50, you must call Student Financial Services to request a refund.
Your financial aid for the semester is finalized based on your enrollment at the end of the course add or course drop period. If your financial aid refund was based on full-time enrollment, and you drop classes during the course add or course drop period, you may be required to repay some of your financial aid.
Students participating in study abroad programs must be enrolled in SACC 482V for the term(s) they will be studying abroad. Students are required to complete the CSU Study Abroad/Financial Aid Packet prior to their departure. Refunds will be deposited directly into the personal bank account identified on the student's RAMweb profile. If a student does not identify a personal bank account for direct deposit, refunds will be delayed (by about two weeks) and will be mailed to the student's current mailing ddress identified on RAMweb. Financial aid is disbursed to study abroad students only if enrolled in SACC 482V. Contact the Study Abroad Office (970) 491-5917 for more information.
If a credit balance is refunded, and subsequent charges are posted to the student's University student account, those charges must be paid when billed.
