Grants at Colorado State University

Grants are financial aid that does not have to be repaid. The grant amount is based on financial need, cost of attendance, and enrollment status.

As Colorado‚Äôs only Land Grant University, we are proud to offer the Commitment to Colorado Award for Colorado residents since the 2011-2012 academic year. We are committed to helping students pursue higher education by providing resources to make CSU an affordable reality. CSU's Commitment to Colorado is a promise to provide Colorado students who have a family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) on their most recently filed federal income tax return(s) of $57,000 or less (and who meet other eligibility requirements) with grant funds from state and university sources to cover at least one-half the cost of student share of base tuition.  In addition, students who are eligible for federal Pell Grant may receive grant funds from federal, state, and University sources to cover at least 100% of student share of base tuition and standard fees (see webpage for complete details). Commitment to Colorado recipients should be aware that the total financial aid received from all sources (including grants, work-study, loans, and all scholarships) cannot exceed the cost of attendance or the calculated need as determined by the FAFSA. Please refer to Your Financial Aid Guide for additional eligibility information.
