Scholarships are gift aid and do not have to be repaid. Scholarships are awarded based on different factors including merit, financial need, and talent. They are awarded by institutions, governments, private individuals, foundations and community organizations.

There are numerous scholarship opportunities at Colorado State University. These web pages, and our Scholarship FAQ,  are designed to help you find, apply for, and hopefully obtain scholarships to attend Colorado State University.

A student’s total resources and financial aid (including grants, work-study, loans, assistantships, scholarships, vocational rehabilitation benefits, etc) cannot exceed their yearly estimated educational expenses for attending CSU. If a student’s total aid exceeds their cost of attendance, Colorado State University may be required to reduce aid to avoid over-awarding. When possible, we reduce loans first.
