Scholarships for Entering Non-Resident Freshman
To be considered for the following scholarships, students must apply for admission by the priority filing date of February 1 and be admitted. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Student Financial Services shortly after being admitted. All University scholarships require recipients to meet the House Bill 1023 requirements.
- Dean's Scholarship
For 2010-2011, $20,000 ($5,000 per year) awarded to students who have a minimum 1150 SAT or 25 ACT AND a 3.25 - 3.49 high school GPA. To be considered, students must submit a complete Application for Admission (including transcripts, test scores, processing fee, personal statement, and recommendation) and meet specific academic criteria by February 1.
Cannot be combined with Provost's, Presidential or WUE.
- Honors Scholarship
For 2010-2011, $8,000 ($2,000 per year) awarded to students who participate in the University Honors Program. For more information about the Honors Program, please visit the University Honors Program website.
- Partnership Award
For 2009-2010, $20,000 ($5,000 per year) awarded to students who have participated in a Partnership Designated program and submit a complete application for admission by March 1.
- Presidential Scholarship
For 2010-2011, $36,000 ($9,000 per year) awarded to students who have a minimum 1150 SAT or 25 ACT AND a 3.75 or higher high school GPA. To be considered, students must submit a complete Application for Admission (including transcripts, test scores, processing fee, personal statement, and recommendation) and meet specific academic criteria by February 1.
Cannot be combined with Dean's, Provost's or WUE.
- Provost's Scholarship
For 2010-2011, $28,000 ($7,000 per year) awarded to students who have a minimum 1150 SAT or 25 ACT AND a 3.5 - 3.74 high school GPA. To be considered, students must submit complete Application for Admission (including transcripts, test scores, processing fee, personal statement, and recommendation) and meet specific academic criteria by February 1.
Cannot be combined with Dean's, Presidential or WUE.
- Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)*
For 2010-2011, Estimated $10,452 (based on 2009-2010 tuition and fees) each year. Amount subject to change. Renewable for eight total semesters provided requirements are met. Non-resident entering freshmen who meet specific academic criteria (see WUE website) and are from a participating WUE state.
*Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) students are not eligible for the Presidential, Provost's or Dean's.
*WUE will be awarded on an on-going basis provided funds are available.
Note: Students can be awarded only one of the following scholarships: Presidential, Provost's, or Dean's. Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) students are not eligible for the Presidential, Provost's or Dean's.

- Creative and Performing Arts Award
Award amounts vary and are awarded to students with talent in art, creative writing, dance, music, or theater. To apply, contact the department from which you wish consideration.

Must have high school GPA of 3.5 or above and evidence of outstanding community service and civic engagement
